Порфир

Porphyry is volcanic rock. The major minerals are quarts, feldspar and plagioclase, often with biotite and pyroxene. The rock can be fractured or massive. It can be used for splitting or to produce big blocks for gangsaws. The color of the riolite can vary in the different deposits from grey to red and pink. The riolite is long lasting stone that can be used in interior or exterior works.
